Unless the blade was longer than three inches, it was entirely legal for anyone to carry it, anyway.

'Sadiq Kahn

"No excuses: there is never a reason to carry a knife.'

Just shows what a knob Khan is. There are many reasons to be legitimately carry a knife.

'‘Good reason’ for carrying a knife may be shown by occupation as a farmer, joiner, estate manager, electrician, recreational stalker (I presume it means deer-stalker, not Kronic) , plumber gameshooter, angler or anyone else who has reasonable grounds for expecting to need a knife whilst pursuing a lawful activity.'

Once he refused to get out of the car when requested and got all chippy I think the copper should have had the option to shoot him dead on the spot.

Just get out of the fucking car for an easy life.

If it happens to you every day, sorry about that, tough shit, rise above it.

You'll be on your way soon enough if everything is legit, especially if you don't get all mouthy with gum plod. In fact chewing gum on duty is more of a crime than having a penknife.

An absolute PC pisstake that this went to court, more of a pisstake is the fact that plod don't routinely carry round a proper tool box in the squad car with at least a decent hacksaw instead of that crappy knife.

Sadiq Kahn

"No excuses: there is never a reason to carry a knife. Anyone who does will be caught, and they will feel the full force of the law."

'Don't know how he got off that last charge given he clearly was carrying a knife.'

As stated in the article, in common with most officers he was carrying a bright yellow knife, clearly displayed on his belt, for the purpose of cutting things, for example the seat -belts of trapped motorists.

If Babylon tell you to get out the car, you should get out the fucking car.

Stupid cunt.

Of course if the driver had just opened the door, all this would have been avoided. Instead he decides he wants his 15 minutes of you tube fame.

He was charged with three offences wasn't he including possession of bladed article. Don't know how he got off that last charge given he clearly was carrying a knife.

Incidentally, anyone familiar with Snaresbrook Crown Court will know it is far from police sympathetic. It had the highest acquittal rate in the country a few years ago. I don't know if it still does.

If he'd been convicted for that we might as well hand the keys to the city to the gangs and criminals.
